Bjorn Copeland of Black Dice
Bjorn Copeland is not only a guy who travels around the world with a handmade white box full of fucked up electronics as one third of Black Dice; he’s a dude who makes rad art — like a lot of rad art. It’s not like my niece, who’s pretty solid with coloring when she feels like it…but he’s a guy who’s forging a unique aesthetic based on repetition, fluxuating patterns of color and form while striking an uneasy balance between obsessive detail and whimsy. I mean give my niece some time but Bjorn is definitively a better artist (right now) than Dianna (who is turning 4 in September).
